The Photographer was avid Brompton enthusiast Dr. Andre Phillips of the Department of Astrophysics, University of New South Wales, Sydney, Australia. Andre rides his Brompton regulary around the pole (weather permitting!) to check scientific recordings at various stations. He says the riding surface for his Brompton cycling is hard and smooth and affords an excellent ride.
